Reasons and solutions for poor cooling effect of industrial chillers

2023-08-09

Industrial chillers are assembled from multiple machines and equipment such as condensers, evaporators, and compressors. The reasons for the poor cooling effect of industrial chillers include cooling system failure, unreasonable cooling system design, and poor circulating water quality. The normal operation of the chiller is essential for daily maintenance. The poor cooling effect of the chiller and no cooling are common maintenance problems. So what are the reasons and methods for the poor cooling effect of the chiller?

1. Improper cleaning: If the cooling system of the chiller accumulates too much dirt or impurities, it will affect the heat exchange effect and cause poor cooling effect.

Solution: Clean the cooling system regularly, using a special cleaning agent or cleaning according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

2. Insufficient refrigerant

Solution: Sufficient refrigerant needs to be supplemented, and the pressure is maintained at about 0.5MPa during refrigeration.

3. Too much refrigerant is added to make the exhaust pressure and temperature of the compressor too high
Solution: release excess refrigerant to keep the pressure at around 0.5MPa during cooling

4. Due to climate reasons, the outdoor temperature is too high in summer, which causes the working condensation pressure and temperature of the outdoor unit to be too high.

Solution: It is necessary to improve the work of the outdoor unit or restart the machine after the ambient temperature is suitable.

6. If the dust on the surface of the condenser is not cleaned for a long time, the accumulated dust is too thick, which leads to poor heat dissipation effect, increases the exhaust pressure and temperature of the compressor, and reduces the cooling capacity.

Solution: It is necessary to remove the dust accumulated on the surface of the condenser, and it should be cleaned regularly at ordinary times.

7. There is leakage in the refrigerant pipeline.

Solution: Use a leak detector to find out where the refrigerant leaks, and replenish the refrigerant after repairing to keep the operating pressure at about 0.5 MPa during refrigeration.

8. The air filter of the indoor unit is clogged.

Solution: Clean the air filter.

For these problems, the above treatment methods can be adopted to improve the cooling effect of the chiller. Chillers are also widely used in plastics, electroplating, electronics, chemical industry, pharmaceutical printing, food processing and other fields where chilled water is required for various industrial refrigeration processes. Through the above measures, most of the problems of poor cooling effect of industrial chillers can be effectively solved. Improve its cooling effect and operating efficiency.
